From the men who brought you “My Dick in a Box”, “Iran So Far”, and “I’m On A Boat”, comes a new video “I Just Had Sex” featuring Akon. Anyway, I have no idea what to really say about this, except it entertains. It’s got a catchy chorus, funny lyrics, Akon, Johnny McEnroe, a congratulations cake, fireworks, and turtleneck sweaters. It doesnt hurt that the two girls were Blake Lively and Jessica Alba.
The internet today has endless sites aimed at entertaining anyone who is willing to spend some time on their site. The real trick is being able to come up with that one idea that can capture an audience as well as build a suitable platform for open source material. A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine turned me on to a site previously unknown to me, whenparentstext.com. It is a site that capitalizes on the humor of an older generation and its clash with modern technology. I can remember when my Mom first began to text, it went one letter at a time and even when you were on the receiving end, you could tell that the effort she had invested in writing it was immense. Months of practice later, my Mom is proficient in texting and she loves it. Most of her texts are simple and inquisitive, but every now and then, I get that one that just tickles my innards.
If you know what I am talking about then check out this site and read some of the funny examples from some very funny parents.
One of the brightest newcomers in 2010, Tinie Tempah has a sound that captures you as he mixes good beats with his English accent. It’s hard to compare rappers who don’t speak the same language, but I would say he is the British version of Kid Cudi with a quicker lyrical delivery. (And yes, English English is completely different from American English so they are different languages.) Most notable similarity between the two rappers has to be their fashion sense as both have very similar styles.
Below is the video for his hit, “Pass Out,” which reached #1 on the UK singles chart. It’s got a futuristic beat, good lyrics, and a catchy hook…all of the good qualities of a hit.
Also, check back later this week for a single by Swedish House Mafia ft. Tinie Tempah.
In the past, we have made posts encouraging everyone to try and devote a part of their day to help make someone else’s just a little bit better. It can be anything from offering to pick up lunch for a co-worker, holding the door open for a stranger or helping a family out at Thanksgiving. A little deed coming from a good heart with sincere intentions can do more for another person to give them hope or lift their spirits that nearly anything on the planet.
With all of the crap that we see in the newspaper or tv about the terrible things that take place in our society, it is always a breath of fresh air to see a story like this one.
This is a story of a pilot who went out of his way, took on some risk, and made a heartfelt gesture for a man who was having a very rough day. Without this pilot’s help, the man’s day could have been much worse. It has hard to foresee the outcome of an action. You never know if your selfless act will go unnoticed, if it will immediately impact that person in a positive way, or if it will drastically change that person’s life. You will definitely never know unless you make the effort.
Enjoy the story. Make a difference in someone’s life today. And tomorrow.
On a random day at work with Pandora running through my headphones, I was delighted to have this rather obscure band from Manchester, England (UNITED!) come into my playlist. Their song “Quiet Place” started playing and I immediately was captured. The chill mood and serene melody made my day and put me in such a relaxed mood. It’s one of those songs that just makes you smile because it makes you happy. If it is true what they say…that smiling is healthy…then consider this song your daily vitamin. I could put this song on repeat and it would carry me through my day. For myself, it has such a relaxing and calming effect and I would hope that is has an equally strong effect on you as well.
Enjoy!
If you enjoyed this song as much I have, then I would encourage you to check out their 2007 album “Businessmen & Ghosts” including another great single, “Rocket.”
For most of you this will be a brief introduction to Martin Solveig but he is one of the top DJ’s in the world and has splashed onto the scene with this smash hit – Hello. I first heard it on Sirius XM and have since heard it on 3 different XM channels, while at lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings, and on a commercial. I hear he is coming to my area and I am definitely going to try to get out and see him.
Back at the prime of the Super Bowl days, the Budweiser frogs were at the top of the commercial marketing world for the different brands of beers. Since then, new players have stepped into the lime light, such as Jameson Whiskey, Captain Morgan, Coors Light, Red Stripe, Malibu, and of course….Dos Equis. As I am sure you are well familiar with the most interesting man in the world, there is still a lot the commercials do not tell you about this extraordinary individual…such as…his name. Let’s start with the things we do know:
Things we know about the Dos Equis man:
He doesn’t usually drink beer, but when he does…he prefers Dos Equis
His beard is definitely real
His Charisma rivals that of Brad Pitt and Tom Brady
His normal attire is a tux
Outside of what we have mentioned above, the commercials do give us a little more information about this man, so if you want to know what those facts are…check out the commercials. I would like to move beyond the television marketing and fill you in on the more fascinating facts about this fascinating person. Enjoy.
Once while sailing around the world, he found a shortcut.
He has never owned a credit card, his word is good enough.
He once swam the English Channel, while in the French Riviera
When he swam the English Channel, he did it backstroke, so his cigar didnt get wet.
He is banned from the Virgin Islands, for fear they would have to change their name.
It only takes him 30 minutes to watch “60 minutes”
He asked Chuck Norris to punch him in the face so he could feel pain…it didnt work.
He’s the only man who can tell a book by its cover
He can read Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”
He shared a beer with Neil Armstrong when he arrived on the moon (it was a Dos Equis)
Sharks have a week dedicated to him
He knows Victoria’s “Secret”
Kids…if you are looking for a role model…look no further.
I absolutely love music but in reality I cannot stand anything that is on the radio. It’s not to say that they aren’t good songs, but when I hear the same song 43 times in one week, they tend to lose their edge. With that disclaimer in place, it is strange I am recommending this song by Mike Posner. If you remember, his first single, “Cooler than me”, was played once every 20 minutes for the first 8 months of 2010. His new single, “Please Don’t Go”, has not had the chance to be overplayed yet on the radio…hence why I still like the song. Not only would I recommend this single, but the rest of his album – 31 Minutes to Takeoff. Quite a few catchy songs on there…not gonna lie.
