Workaholics

We all have some of these people at our own offices.  The ones that put in the overtime, the ones that “love their job”, the ones that actually care, or the ones that just dont have anything better to do.  In our minds, we all have a somewhat clear definition of a “workaholic.”  When you turn on Comedy Central, Wednesday @ 10:30, leave that definition at the door, because it most certainly will not apply to anything on this show.  On the other hand, you will laugh and learn very valuable information about real life office situations.

  • You will learn how a ninja star and Die Hard can help you pass a drug test at work.
  • You will learn how to score basketball tickets from that guy you never talk to.
  • You will learn how to ride in an Escalade, because most of us will never drive one.
  • You will learn how the Boy Scout Rule of D’s.
  • You will learn why you should not do drugs at work.
  • You will learn the best way to spend your $350 paycheck.
  • Most importantly, you will learn the poop dollar prank.

If that isnt enough to get you to at least give it a try, then just stick with the new Swamp People show and learn nothing!

These 3 guys share a cubicle, a home, and a valuable friendship.  They will make you laugh.  Enjoy.

The Employee of the Month!

I hope that you all show this level of dedication while at work.  I also hope that you find a few more sanitary ways to show your strong work ethic and your determination to get ahead while at work.

A couple of things to notice:

  1. The Laptop screen is tilted back for a prime “toilet” viewing angle
  2. Must be casual friday as she has cozy flip flops on
  3. Must be a small business. Not too many stalls.
  4. She is quite flexible

Laptop spelled backwards is potpal. Coincidence…I think not.

Alex! Must Give Credit Where Credit Is Due.

Dan is probably going to backhand me for putting this up here mainly because it will cause him to relive a premier league loss for Arsenal.  The only thing Dan hates worse than Arsenal losing…is Arsenal losing to Chelsea.  Being a Manchester United supporter, I find it very difficult to say positive things about Chelsea or any of their players.  Ballack is just a German brute who commits more fouls than he completes passes.  Drogba is a disgrace to the game with his crybaby antics and dirty play – anybody as big as that man should never spend so much time writhing on the ground.  Cech used to be good, now he is defined by a rubber helmet.  Ah, now I feel better.  Even though I hate Chelsea, I am in love with the game of soccer.  When you love a sport and you see something amazing, no matter what team they play for, you have to respect and admire the accomplishments.

After many years of playing and watching soccer, I have seen some pretty cool things.  It isn’t very often that you see something that truly leaves you speechless and in complete awe.  Well, in a recent English Premier League match, Chelsea’s centerback, Alex, hit one of the most beautiful free kicks I have ever witnessed.  Roberto Carlos of Brazil has scored my favorite goal of all time and this one came close to rivaling it.  Before you watch the video, I am going to explain a couple of things really quick, just in case you aren’t educated in soccer…and to make the video seem even cooler.

  1. Alex is a central defender, which means he isn’t supposed to score or be good at scoring.
  2. This shot is taken with his laces, but hit with side spin.  To hit that ball with that much power takes insane strength.
  3. To hit the ball that hard, with that spin, and still keep it under the crossbar is mind boggling.
  4. He drills this shot in a narrow narrow space where his teammate, Malouda was standing prior to the hit.
  5. It curves perfectly to the upper 90.

Everything about this shot is spectacular.  I definitely just went from six to midnight.  Enjoy the goal & watch the crowd’s reaction.

Cinematic Adventures!

One of the quintessential American pasttimes that has proved to be a timeless form of entertainment by continuing to allure people of all ages is the Cinema…or Movie Theater.  Personally, I like Cinema better.  It makes me feel mature and sophisticated.  I encourage you from now on to refer to it is as the Cinema.  For a split second you can really confuse people.  The use of that one word will make them think you are there to indulge in a form of entertainment that will inspire and captivate you, when we all know you are just there to watch stuff blow up, see Brad Pitt take his shirt off (Sorry Ladies! His abs in Troy are fake), or for some God-awful reason…watch vampires & werewolves play in the woods.   ANYWAY…sorry for the tangent.  The Cinema is something just about everyone of us takes part in at some point, it may not be as often as others, but we still take part.  For those of you who are on the fence about going to see a new adventure soon, here are some of my recommendations.

Out Now:

  • “The Town”

I NEVER thought I would ever actually be encouraging anyone to go watch a movie that has anything to do with Ben Affleck, but what can I say, I never thought Lebron could be any more of a tool and we all know how that turned out.  “The Town” not only stars Ben Affleck but it is directed by Ben Affleck.  Before you condemn me, this movie is night and day from the quality of his earlier works such as Daredevil or Gigli.  The movie is set in Boston and it has a simple, easy to follow plot about bank robbers and all the action that goes along with that.  The real brilliance of this movie stems from the Boston characters that are portrayed by Affleck and Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker).  Both actors convey this real sense of authenticity to the audience without even a whole lot of dialogue.  The way these guys carry themselves throughout the movie allows you to realize they are criminals, but half way through you will be rooting for them because they connect with the everyday person.  Beyond all of that, it has your bank robberies, car chases, TONS of gunfire, and loads of suspense.  Check it out.

Upcoming:

  • Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

Further Down The Road: (Check out the trailers)

  • Due Date

  • Unstoppable

Oh Mr. Tosh…Such A Comedian!

Lost is over.  Seinfeld was over like 8 years ago.  If you are still looking for a new show but don’t want to dabble in cookie cutter Reality shows, crappy new sitcoms, or NCIS LA, NY, DC, FL, etc. – Then check out Daniel Tosh on Comedy Central.  The show is called Tosh.O and it is hilarious.  Think of a mix between The Colbert Report and The Soup.  Tosh spends the half hour entertaining you with all of the viral youtube videos you only wish you had the time to discover and then he spends about 10 – 15 seconds making fun of each one of them.  He spices the episodes up with certain recurring segments such as:

  • Twispers
  • Dick of the Week & Prank of the Week
  • Video Breakdown
  • Web Investigation
  • 20 Seconds on the Clock
  • Web Redemption (Best Part of the Show)

His humor is fresh and creative.  He manages to make racist and sexist comments in a way which doesn’t really make it that offensive.  Kind of.  Just watch the show, if you aren’t completely uptight, then you will laugh and laugh and laugh.  Makes for great office water cooler talk.  I highly recommend checking it out.

Where: Comedy Central

When: Wednesday at 10:30 P.M.

You can also check your cable provider’s On Demand section to see if there are any old episodes available for your viewing pleasure.  If you don’t trust my judgment, then try out his blog and watch some videos.

Funny E-mail

Sorry for the lack of a good title here.  Since this a site focused on entertaining you at work, here is an example of a funny e-mail I received from friend out of nowhere one day while I was at work.  It made my day.  If you don’t get the reference, it’s from a Dave Chappelle standup act.  Check out the video below after reading the e-mail and don’t forget to submit your own funny stories/e-mails from work.

Thought of the day before I leave work:

All the white kids are hunched over the refrigerator looking at the high-c.
Black kid is in the back saying, “i want that purple stuff baby”

PURPLE STUFF IS GOOD”

Thank you Ben for the good post.
