Lamborghini Takes To The Water!

Growing up, everybody dreamed of  one day owning a nice car and a lamborghini was the quintessential exotic to have in your dream garage.  Personally, as a kid, I had a poster of a 1995 Lamborghini Countach on my wall.  I used it as a motivational tool to work hard so that one day I might own one.   To some, it is a symbol of wealth or social status and to others, it is a freakishly expensive toy that is an all around driving experience.  The exotic car is featured in rap videos, movies (or cinematic adventures in the words of Dane Cook) and TV shows.  For years, the brand of Lamborghini has been able to maintain its place atop the world’s most desirable automobiles.  Now, they are taking it one step further and have ventured to the water.  Behold, the Lamborghini Concept Yacht.

The yacht is an engineering marvel.  The interior boasts a lucious cockpit along with an owner’s suite, guest bedroom, and a protected lounge.  The true beauty of this luxurious marine animal lies in its exterior.  To achieve optimal performance and aerodynamics, the designer constructed the boat out of kevlar and carbon fiber.  In case your wondering, yes it replicates the the thrill of driving a Lamborghini Gallardo or Reventon on the highway because it is powered by not 1, but 3 high performance motors.  Add that to my bucket list please.  I have already sent an inquiry into Lamborghini to let me test drive the yacht in order to write an unbiased and professional review.  I will update you on the status as I am notified.

Funny E-mail

Sorry for the lack of a good title here.  Since this a site focused on entertaining you at work, here is an example of a funny e-mail I received from friend out of nowhere one day while I was at work.  It made my day.  If you don’t get the reference, it’s from a Dave Chappelle standup act.  Check out the video below after reading the e-mail and don’t forget to submit your own funny stories/e-mails from work.

Thought of the day before I leave work:

All the white kids are hunched over the refrigerator looking at the high-c.
Black kid is in the back saying, “i want that purple stuff baby”

PURPLE STUFF IS GOOD”

Thank you Ben for the good post.

Thursday’s Tunes – 8/26/10

Hello Again! Another installment of 10 Tunes on Thursday to entertain and brighten your work day.  Each one of these songs is located in the MP3 Player on the righthand sidebar.

  1. Static Revenger & RichardVission – I Like That
  2. The Helio Sequence – Keep Your Eyes Ahead
  3. Aqualung – Something to Believe In
  4. Empire of the Sun – Standing on the Shore
  5. Helen Stellar – This Time Around
  6. Tiesto ft. Cary Brothers – Here on this Earth
  7. Bloc Party – One More Chance
  8. TV on the Radio – DLZ
  9. Umbrellas – The City Lights
  10. George Strait – River of Love

The featured band for this week is The Helio Sequence.  I had the priviledge of seeing them live as they opened for Keane at a concert in Philly.  A two man band from Portland, Oregon.  The duo manages to bring a lot to the table in terms of a unique melody enhanced by multiple sounds.  The drummer is vastly entertaining through his facial expressions and drumming style.  I definitely encourage you to check them out, both their newer stuff as well as their earlier albums.

Enjoy!

Fantasy Football 2010

Before I actually go into my post, I just want to alert our readers to the “Submit” link/button at the top of the page.  This is where the readers can send in their funny/interesting/weird work stories, pictures, or e-mails chains.  PLEASE, send us something so we can really get this site going.  Our goal is to eventually make it completely user-driven.

Back to the post!  I’m sure many of you are just as excited about FF ’10 as I am.  If not, scroll down and read some other interesting posts.  If you are, I’m going to weigh in on who I see as the top ten fantasy players this year.  Hopefully you disagree and will leave a comment as to why.

  1. RB – Chris Johnson: If you are a football fan and don’t know his name, you are not a football fan.  The guy had one of the biggest seasons from a RB in history.  He can run and catch… very well.  Surprisingly enough, that is a rare package in the NFL these days.  If you have the number one pick in your league’s draft, I think you will regret that decision later on.  That should tell you all you need to know.
  2. RB – Ray Rice: With passing game that might actually do something positive this year, there will be much more for defenses to worry about when playing the Ravens than just Rice, despite his huge breakout year in 2009.  The 2nd best receiving back in the league behind CJ, he will get a huge portion of the Ravens offensive workload this season.
  3. RB – Maurice Jones-Drew: Beastly when taking the handoffs, beastly when catching passes.  The questions here come from his teammates.  The Jacksonville offense does not strike as much confidence in me as others from this top ten, but MJD’s talent alone is enough to take him in the top 10.
  4. QB – Aaron Rodgers: The guy is a beast and has arguably the best receiving corps in the game.  He outscored all other QB’s last year by lots of points (basically I’m not sure how many). Out of the backfield, there are not many better receiving RB’s than Ryan Grant.  TE Jermichael Finley is a rising star at that position, and with the wideout threats of Donald Driver and Greg Jennings, Rodgers is in for another huge year.
  5. RB – Adrian Peterson: The guy is a workhorse and will get a ton of handoffs.  This will also decrease his value because he puts the ball on the ground way too much.  With Brett “I cannot make-up my mind” Favre coming back, AP’s value will only rise with someone to take the center of attention from him on offense.
  6. WR – Andre Johnson: The top wideout available without a doubt.  Sure Reggie Wayne and Randy Moss are great picks, but neither is as big, strong, or fast as Johnson.  He typically won’t be doubled either because Matt Schaub will pick out Jacoby Jones, Kevin Walter, or Owen
Daniels.  Certain top 10 fantasy player.
  7. RB – Steven Jackson: Aging and with a weak offense, but year after year Jackson proves that he is a top NFL back.  Again, another top receiving back and he can still run.  If you are in a PPR (point per reception) league, then Jackson is an especially strong pick.  With Sam Bradford at QB, this makes Jackson’s value decrease a bit, but he should be a good safety net for Bradford when receivers are not open.
  8. QB – Drew Brees: You want to talk about a high-powered offense.  Let’s just begin by naming some of his weapons: Reggie Bush, Pierre Thomas, Marques Colston, Devery Henderson, and Robert Meachem.  That’s without mentioning a rookie who could make waves in the NFL this year in Montez Billings.
  9. RB – DeAngelo Williams: From mock drafts I’ve seen, Williams does not seem to be the most popular, but I think he is a great 1st round value, especially if it takes Jonathan Stewart some time to recover from last season’s injury.  Early in the season particularly, Stewart should be a strong number one RB in any fantasy team.
  10. QB – Peyton Manning: Do you really need an explanation?  Joseph Addai is a viable receiving RB.  Dallas Clark is the best receiving TE in the league and Reggie Wayne is one of the best WR’s in the league.  If Peyton falls to you late in the first, you’re picking up a guy who will consistently bring in points.  It’s a guarantee.

Hope this helps with your draft.  Let me know what you think.   My hope is that some of my picks will be controversial.
